Daniel Jaen ... Daniel Jaen is a contemporary painter and investigator of the human body. Through his portraits, the artist puts his own sexuality under discussion and questions the image of men in today's society. His dy-namic and fragmented brushstrokes invoke masculine fragility and allow these figures to manifest them-selves in their most sensitive forms. The artist intends to go beyond the physical body. The several layers of painting, the often visible sketches and unfinished parts, create the most diverse connotations and let the viewer reach other psychological and emotional extensions of men. Daniel has a close relationship with social networks that is directly manifested in his work. His technique has a strong influence of sev-eral other contemporary artists with whom he connects on digital platforms.

 

Agostino Arrivabene ... Agostino Arrivabene, a very talented Italian painter, is a painter of decadence, dream and ancient symbologies who uses his own homemade pigments and colors and tries to revive ancient pictorial techniques. Arrivabene was born in Rivolta d’Adda, in the province of Cremona, Italy in 1967. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in 1991. He then travelled to various Italian and international cities seeking out the work of the Old Masters, deepening his knowledge of his craft, and bringing to bear a great influence upon the future development of his own artwork.

Jack Smith ... Jack Smith is a British painter, currently based in Barcelona. He mostly paints landscapes and portraits. One of his portraits is currently exhibited at the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona. He has also exhibited in several venues in the United Kingdom including the Museum of Oxford and the Pitt Rivers Museum. Jack likes to experiment with different techniques. He uses palette knives to apply the paint thickly and lately has been using fast circular motions to give a dreamlike quality. Jack’s favourite artists include Post-Impressionist painters such as Paul Cézanne, and contemporary artists such as Raynald Leclerc and Josephine Trotter. Jack has a strong engagement with the LGBTQ+ community and his Pride in London painting was recently selected by the UK Magistrates Association to be among the exhibition: “A 100 years of justice”. He was also invited for a solo exhibition at St. John’s College, University of Oxford with a series of portraits depicting the lives of LGBTQ+ people in Oxford.

 

Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg ... Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg (1783-1853) was a Danish painter. He was born in Blåkrog in the Duchy of Schleswig to Henrik Vilhelm Eckersberg, painter and carpenter, and Ingeborg Nielsdatter. He went on to lay the foundation for the period of art known as the Golden Age of Danish Painting, and is referred to as the Father of Danish painting.

 

Omar Chaves Viteri ... Omar Chaves Viteri is from Bucaramanga, Colombia. Fully self-taught painter and draftsman, Omar is also a General Practitioner who graduated in medicine in 2006 from one of the most prestigious universities in Colombia. He never received a formal arts education, his curiosity and love for science and knowledge has led him to discover unique ways to combine light and use pigments as compounds, not only for their hue, the discipline inherited from his training in the scientific method, and constant and strict practice in the study and graphic representation of the male anatomy. Omar enjoys capturing men’s figures as they engage in daily life, in addition to apocalyptic, dystopian events, with overtones of horror and cyberpunk. Omar’s work expounds his love for masculinity without disguise, embedded in an experience full of culture in the limits of subversion and empowerment of the current and future homosexual man; in his own words: "In an attempt to root out the association of homosexuals with explicit sex, my boys in the most charming and natural way, tell the story of the non-stereotypical homosexual man, they give courage to homosexuals in the world, to stop hiding, to do much more than I, little or much, have achieved with my pride and lack of modesty, with the love for my guild, with my fine and humble art, teaching haters that homosexuals are not stuffed with flowers, we are flesh, spirit and soul, like everyone, full of existence and love, like everything, just stardust—a breath from heaven."

Bastiaan Mol ... Bastiaan Mol (1954) is a dutch visual artist based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He never works digital but prefers materials such as watercolours, gouache, pen+ink, graphite, acrylics and pastels to work with. Bastiaan Mol prefers working after live models,but also finds inspiration in photos of the web that however are changed usually in something completely different. Bastiaan Mol got his art education in Belgium at the Academy for Arts and Crafts (Illustration design) in Antwerp (1986-1991). Subjects for his paintings are mainly the male figure in various materials and styles , but also animals (mainly birds) , music inspired portraits , the old Hollywood ,etc.

Carlo Pittore (né Charles Stanley) ... Carlo Pittore (1943-2005) who is also known under the pseudonym “Charles Stanley”, was an accomplished and passionate maker. He was a prolific painter, a community activist, and an internationally renowned mail artist who lived and worked in New York City, Southern Italy, and Bowdoinham, Maine. Over the course of his 30-year career as a painter, Carlo created a prodigious body of portraits and nudes. His oeuvre also includes mythological and comedic explorations, abstract and multimedia works, and a large number of works on paper.

Anthony Ackrill ... Anthony Ackrill was born in Alaska in 1958, but spent most of his childhood in Florida and Ohio. He decided to pursue painting at a relatively late age. Subsequently, he studied graphic design, and worked as an art director at an established advertising agency. In addition, he designed his own line of humorous greeting cards, which sold internationally. Following this period, Mr. Ackrill began to study drawing and painting on his own. After winning awards in several local and regional art contests, as well as selling some of his paintings, he sought a more formal education to help develop his talent. Mr. Ackrill found an excellent atelier-styled school for artists in Florence, Italy and enrolled in late 1995, at the age of 37. In his second year in Florence, Mr. Ackrill began teaching anatomy to his fellow students, and then also taught drawing and painting. After five years of painting and teaching in Florence Italy, he returned to Florida, where he now has his own studio.

 

Fred Hatt ... Born 1958 USA, Fred Hatt is an artist working in figurative drawing and painting, experimental video and photography, body art, and performance, exploring light, movement, energy, and the emergence of beauty from chaos. My work is an art of movement and feeling. For me what is important is not conceptual or iconographic content, but process and practice. Drawing from life is the core practice for a multi-media career that crosses the boundaries between performance and visual arts, between traditional craft and contemporary technologies

 

Daniel Barkley ... Daniel Barkley was born in Montreal in 1962, where he obtained a Master of Fine Arts from Concordia University in 1994. He is known for his nude figurative work alluding to myths, legends and art history, which has been widely exhibited and collected across Canada and the United States for over twenty years. His work has been the subject of retrospective exhibitions at the Musée des arts contemporain des Laurentides (2004) and University of Toronto's Justina M. Barnicke Gallery (2007), and has been recognized with multiple awards including the Canadian Society of Painters Watercolour’s A.J. Casson Medal in 2002 and 2012 and a nomination for the prestigious Kingston Prize, for which he was shortlisted in 2011. The human figure features prominently in Daniel Barkley’s works and, although they may be viewed as portraits, Barkley’s paintings also allude to myths, legends and to the history of art. The tension between the intimate portrait and the theatrical presentation of stories that present “truths” about the human condition is a principal characteristic of his work. His figures offer the viewer a singular glimpse into a universe in which real people and fictional characters co-exist.

 

Alessio Slonimsky ... D’origine espagnol, Alessio Slonimsky est un peintre hors du commun. Sa spécialité : les illustrations gays.
