James Childs ...Born in 1947, the basis of James Childs’ art today is his study with Richard Lack (1971-74) and R.H.Ives Gammell (Summers 1971 -73), an education based in Boston Impressionism and the traditions of the Ecole des Beaux Arts transmitted through Gammell’s master, William McGregor Paxton who studied with Dennis Miller Bunker and the great Gerome in Paris - a tradition transmitted in an unbroken line from the Florentine Renaissance. Childs amplified these studies by extensive copying of the Masters and comparative research in 19th. Century and Renaisance painting and drawing. The Greek aesthetic informs his personal ideal. He has a B.F.A. from The Minneapolis College of Art and Design and spent a year at Atelier 63 in Haarlem, Holland, founded and taught by members of the expressionist group COBRA, Ger Lataster and Karl Apprl. James Childs work can be described as a modern hybrid of Classical Greek idealism, the influence of the Fifteenth Century Italian "gusto grande’, and the refinement of the great Academic masters of 19th. Century France. His color is inspired by his personal reaction to nature, to Boston Impressionism and to French Post-Impressionism.

 

 

Omar Chaves Viteri ... Omar Chaves Viteri is from Bucaramanga, Colombia. Fully self-taught painter and draftsman, Omar is also a General Practitioner who graduated in medicine in 2006 from one of the most prestigious universities in Colombia. He never received a formal arts education, his curiosity and love for science and knowledge has led him to discover unique ways to combine light and use pigments as compounds, not only for their hue, the discipline inherited from his training in the scientific method, and constant and strict practice in the study and graphic representation of the male anatomy. Omar’s work expounds his love for masculinity without disguise, embedded in an experience full of culture in the limits of subversion and empowerment of the current and future homosexual man; in his own words: "In an attempt to root out the association of homosexuals with explicit sex, my boys in the most charming and natural way, tell the story of the non-stereotypical homosexual man, they give courage to homosexuals in the world, to stop hiding, to do much more than I, little or much, have achieved with my pride and lack of modesty, with the love for my guild, with my fine and humble art, teaching haters that homosexuals are not stuffed with flowers, we are flesh, spirit and soul, like everyone, full of existence and love, like everything, just stardust—a breath from heaven."

Franz Fleissner ... Franz Fleissner is based in Sweden. He has been producing pictures for many years and his work has been published in several art photography books and magazines such as The Romantic Male Nude, Studio magazines, (Australia) and Playgirl Magazine.” After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts School in Sweden he found a new passion (and soon to be obsession) in photography and started his first photographic projects in 1995. With a background In fine art potography Franz found his inspiration in the great masters of painting and soon adapted the classical lighting as used when sculpting and painting. Charles Ray ... Charles Ray (b. 1953 in Chicago, USA) is widely regarded as one of the most significant artists of his generation. He is best known for his sculptures of altered and refashioned familiar objects. He studied sculpture at the University of Iowa School of Art and Art History with Roland Brener, who exposed Ray to many of developments of Modernist sculpture, in particular the constructivist aesthetic of artists like Anthony Caro and David Smith. He later studied with Stephen Zaima, where Ray executed many of his performance pieces in the undergraduate studio like the Plank Piece.
