James Childs ...Born in 1947, the basis of James Childs’ art today is his study with Richard Lack (1971-74) and R.H.Ives Gammell (Summers 1971 -73), an education based in Boston Impressionism and the traditions of the Ecole des Beaux Arts transmitted through Gammell’s master, William McGregor Paxton who studied with Dennis Miller Bunker and the great Gerome in Paris - a tradition transmitted in an unbroken line from the Florentine Renaissance. Childs amplified these studies by extensive copying of the Masters and comparative research in 19th. Century and Renaisance painting and drawing. The Greek aesthetic informs his personal ideal. He has a B.F.A. from The Minneapolis College of Art and Design and spent a year at Atelier 63 in Haarlem, Holland, founded and taught by members of the expressionist group COBRA, Ger Lataster and Karl Apprl. James Childs work can be described as a modern hybrid of Classical Greek idealism, the influence of the Fifteenth Century Italian "gusto grande’, and the refinement of the great Academic masters of 19th. Century France. His color is inspired by his personal reaction to nature, to Boston Impressionism and to French Post-Impressionism.

 

 

Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg ... Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg (1783-1853) was a Danish painter. He was born in Blåkrog in the Duchy of Schleswig to Henrik Vilhelm Eckersberg, painter and carpenter, and Ingeborg Nielsdatter. Alexander Deineka ... Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Deyneka (1899-1969) was a Soviet Russian painter, graphic artist and sculptor, regarded as one of the most important Russian modernist figurative painters of the first half of the 20th century. His Collective Farmer on a Bicycle (1935) has been described as exemplifying the Socialist Realist style.

 

Franz Fleissner ... Franz Fleissner is based in Sweden. Carlo Pittore (né Charles Stanley) ... Carlo Pittore (1943-2005) who is also known under the pseudonym “Charles Stanley”, was an accomplished and passionate maker. He was a prolific painter, a community activist, and an internationally renowned mail artist who lived and worked in New York City, Southern Italy, and Bowdoinham, Maine. Over the course of his 30-year career as a painter, Carlo created a prodigious body of portraits and nudes. His oeuvre also includes mythological and comedic explorations, abstract and multimedia works, and a large number of works on paper.

 

Erick Monterrosa ... Erick Monterrosa (1989-) (Masaya, Nicaragua) believes in a philosophy of challenging what is normal and uses photography as a medium to address social issues in his country that stem from social stigmas. His purest work, which allows him to connect with his feminine side, fights to promote liberty as a right, equality as a premise and the question of gender as theme of constant debate. His photographs are used to transcend reality and to challenge his subjects to bare their souls in front of the camera and to go beyond their limits. That is why for him, this expression and form of art is a dynamic, empathetic endless dance with the senses, beauty, idealized perfection and the aesthetic figure. Experimentation is the basis of his work, which holds faithful to a style that focuses on creating the mundane into something magical.

 

Alessio Slonimsky ... D’origine espagnol, Alessio Slonimsky est un peintre hors du commun. Sa spécialité : les illustrations gays. Son portfolio est composé d’illustrations pornographiques et une bande dessinée intitulée Fetuccini Carbonara. Cette dernière ayant fait fureur auprès de ses fans qu’elle a été traduite en espagnol, portugais et même en russe. Les récents œuvres réalisés par l’artiste sont inspirés des illustrations de la période du XIXe siècle. Durant cette période, la révolution industrielle a nourri bien de fantasme. En effet, les hommes étaient fascinés par les machines à vapeur, l’aviation. Grâce à son talent, il a su synchroniser son art à ses inspirations. Il met en scène des hommes nus, habillés d’un simple chapeau et d’un monocle, aux commandes des premiers prototypes d’engins volants (avion ou ballon gonflable), ou encore prenant des poses artistiques dans un décor champêtre. Déclinées sur différents supports, ses réalisations sont ainsi présentes sur des services à thé pour épater vos convives à l’heure du thé ou du goûter ; en papier peint pour une déco originale, vintage et très sexy, sur des t-shirts pour se démarquer des autres.
